🌟 Join us in celebrating Miles Tungesvik on his remarkable achievement as a National Merit Finalist! Miles is the son of Jaclyn and Mike Tungesvik. His journey is a testament to his dedication and academic excellence. Miles has big dreams ahead as he plans to attend Alabama and pursue a degree in Aerospace Engineering. Miles attended Trinity Schools from PK through 4th grade before continuing his education at Boone CSD from 5th to 12th grade. ✨ Congratulations, Miles! We are proud of you!

🎉 Let's give a round of applause to our next staff member, Kara-lyn Bulver, who is celebrating a decade of dedication at Boone CSD! Kara-lyn, a 3-year-old preschool teacher at Ledges Elementary, has been instrumental in shaping the early educational journey of countless students.
Kara-lyn shares, "I have enjoyed getting to be the first experience with school for many Boone CSD students. Watching a student's love for learning develop and grow has been a great highlight each school year." Her passion for fostering a love of learning sets the stage for lifelong academic success.
Your dedication to providing a nurturing and enriching environment for young learners is truly commendable. Thank you, Kara-lyn, for your commitment to the students of Ledges Elementary and the Boone CSD!
🎉 Our first 10 year staff member to highlight is an associate at Boone Middle School. Let's cheer for Jenny Albaugh as she marks an incredible decade of service at Boone CSD! She brings a wealth of passion and dedication to her alma mater.

Engineering fuels progress by tackling challenges and shaping the future. With technology advancing at a rapid pace, the demand for engineering expertise is set to soar in both the near and distant future.
In recognition of National Engineers Week, we encourage students to prepare for in-demand jobs by taking engineering and STEM-focused classes that interest them. ⚒️
🎉 Our last 15-year staff member at Boone CSD to celebrate is Joanne Krafcisin, Special Education teacher at Franklin Elementary. Joanne has poured her heart and soul into shaping the lives of countless students.
Reflecting on her journey, she shared, "When I left the Boone schools after a brief stint from 1992–94, I never did imagine I would be returning with my family in 2005. The Boone community and Boone CSD have been amazing places to live and raise our family."
Joanne's dedication to education goes beyond the classroom. She emphasized, "Our schools are growing and advancing to meet the needs of all learners and prepare all students to be successful in whatever path they choose." She also helps with the Hope Foundation and said that she's never been a part of an organization that offers more hope and assistance to families.
Her passion, commitment, and unwavering support for students and families inspire us all. Joanne, here's to many more years of making a difference!

The Boone Community School District’s highly acclaimed work-based learning initiative, EDGE (Empowering Desire Guiding Experience), gained recognition at the recent National Conference on Education, sponsored by AASA, The School Superintendents Association.
Superintendent Julie Trepa led an engaging roundtable session titled "They Don't Have to Leave: Unlocking Student Potential and Building Thriving Communities," highlighting Boone CSD's innovative approach to integrating work-based learning into its community and its profound impact on student success.
During the session, participants gained valuable insights into the comprehensive framework of Boone’s Portrait of a Graduate and EDGE program, designed to equip students for post-secondary success while addressing the needs of the local community. Superintendent Trepa emphasized EDGE’s adaptability, allowing students to explore various pathways and tailor their career trajectories as their interests and skills evolve.
Additionally, Superintendent Trepa showcased the district’s extensive partnership network, which facilitates a wide array of work-based learning opportunities across various industries for students.
"We take immense pride in the transformative influence of EDGE on our students and community,” said Julie Trepa, BCSD Superintendent. “By sharing our innovative approach at the National Conference on Education, we aim to inspire educators nationwide to reconsider traditional educational models and embrace work-based learning as a powerful tool for student success.”
Educators from across the country attended the session and expressed admiration for Boone CSD’s forward-thinking educational approach.
"The majority of my state, Oregon, is your size or smaller," said Shelly Reggiani, Ed.D., of the Coalition of Oregon School Administrators. "You have some very inventive and powerful opportunities for your students. I’m grateful I came to your session."
